Sony redesigns the PlayStation Vita

At the Sony Conference for Japan and Asia today, Sony announced a redesigned version of the Vita:

…and here’s what we know:

– It will be available in various colours: white, black, green, light blue, pink and grey.

– It is a thinner and lighter model

– The updated screen is no longer OLED but will be LCD instead.

– 1GB of internal memory has been added to improve the memory limitations for the device.

– Memory card prices have also been dropped and a 64Gb card was unveiled.

– Improves battery life gives you an extra hour of activity.

It all sounds fantastic, so what’s the downside? So far, only Japan has price listings and a release date of October 10th, 2013. Us Aussies may have to wait a while to find out a local date and price.
